VDSL Setup Instructions - Draytek DV130 example

General Instructions

Tech Connections Internet make our Internet connections as simple as possible for users to configure.  Rather than having to login with username/password and realms etc. we do NOT support PPP at all and instead the user sends a simple DHCP request on their WAN port instead and Tech Connections Internet will return an IP address to the router.

Here are some generic settings for most ADSL/VDSL routers

  1. Internet Access -> General Setup
    1. DSL Mode: VDSL2 only (or Auto for ADSL)
    2. ADSL - Disable VLAN tag insertions
    3. VDSL2 - Service Column
      1. VLAN tag insertion = Enable
      2. Tag value = 10
      3. Priority = 0
    4. VDSL2 - Customer Column
      1. VLAN tag insertion = Disable
  2. Internet Access -> PPPoE / PPPoA Client = Disabled  (all settings should be greyed out)
  3. Internet Access -> MPoA / Static or Dynamic IP 
    1. MPoA = Enabled 
    2. Multi-PVC channel = Channel 2
    3. Encapsulation = 1483 Bridged IP LLC
    4. VPI = 0
    5. VCI = 110
    6. Modulation = Multimode
    7. Vlan = Enable
    8. MTU = 1500 
    9. RIP Protocol = No 
    10. Bridge Mode = Disabled (unless required) 
    11. WAN IP Network Settings = Obtain an IP Address Automatically 
    12. Default MAC Address
    13. DNS Servers = Should be able to leave blank and our DHCP service will send these to the router
